About Us

MWD Federal Credit Union was organized in 1956 for the purpose of serving the employees of the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California. MWDFCU is a member owned, not-for-profit financial cooperative chartered under federal law and insured by the NCUA. We have the ability to keep our interest rates on loans low and savings high to bring you, the member, a better return on your hard earned money. We pride ourselves on personal and accurate service and strive to be the institution that you trust to handle your financial needs.

Field of Membership

• Employees of Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MWD);
• Un-remarried spouses of persons who died while in the field of membership;
• The Board of Directors of MWD; Employees of MWDFCU;
• Persons retired from MWD;
• Members of the immediate families of the above which include spouse, parents, siblings, children, step-children, grandchildren, domestic partners, mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandparents;
• And organizations of such persons.

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors is elected by the general membership each year and is responsible for establishing policies; for all MWDFCU programs including loans and savings and directing the credit union's operation as a whole. The Supervisory Committee is appointed by the Board and conducts audits to make sure that policy and procedures are adhered to.
